A striking expression for Ichiro Akuto‘s Chichibu Distillery – one of the youngest distilleries in Japan having been founded in 2004. This whisky was distilled in March 2013 and was matured in a single ex-bourbon barrel before being bottled exclusively for Whiskey Mew.
The nose is sweet and is full of honeydew melon and vanilla. This sweetness continues in the palate which is full of caramel and grapes before leading into the woody and satisfying finish.
